The government of Kyrgyzstan has introduced a temporary ban on the export of mineral fertilizers outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan reports.

"The ban has been in effect since March 3, 2025, for a period of six months and applies to all types of mineral fertilizers, except for international transit and humanitarian aid provided by a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers," the statement reads.

It is specified that if fertilizers previously imported from outside the EAEU do not meet established quality standards, they may be re-exported.

The ministry emphasized that the introduction of the export ban is a strategically important decision aimed at protecting national interests, supporting domestic agriculture, and ensuring the stable development of the agro-industrial sector.
