Kyrgyz PM Highlights Key Priorities at Summer Davos Forum in China

Kyrgyzstan’s Prime Minister, Akylbek Japarov (Adylbek Kasymaliev), spoke on June 24 at a panel session during the “Summer Davos – 2025” World Economic Forum held in Tianjin, China. The session focused on the future of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), according to Kyrgyz Cabinet’s press service.

Kasymaliev emphasized that despite global challenges, the BRI remains a vital international platform for cooperation. He noted that Kyrgyzstan was among the first countries to support the initiative and continues to actively contribute to its development.

In his remarks, the Prime Minister outlined five key areas where Kyrgyzstan is ready to deepen engagement under the BRI framework:

  • Transport and logistics – Kyrgyzstan aims to become a key transit hub linking Asia and Europe.

  • Trade and economy – The country is positioning itself as a gateway to both the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the European Union for international investors.

  • Financial cooperation – New instruments are being developed to support large-scale projects and cross-border investment.

  • Digitalization and technology – Kyrgyzstan is advancing the concept of a “Digital Silk Road,” with 90% of public services now available online.

  • Energy – The country plans to implement major energy projects to meet growing regional demands.

The Prime Minister’s participation highlights Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to multilateral economic cooperation and its strategic role in the evolving landscape of regional connectivity.
