Korea thanks Turkmenistan for assistance in evacuating its citizens

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea has expressed its gratitude to the Government of Turkmenistan for assisting in the evacuation of South Korean citizens from the Middle East. The statement was published by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ashgabat, according to Turkmenportal.tm.

“We sincerely thank the Government of Turkmenistan for its support in ensuring the safe transit of Korean nationals residing in Iran through its territory to third countries,” a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said during a regular briefing at the government complex in Seoul.

South Korea also extended similar appreciation to the governments of Jordan and Egypt for helping facilitate the safe departure of its citizens from Israel.

“We are deeply grateful for the spirit of solidarity shown by these nations and look forward to further strengthening our friendship and cooperation,” the spokesperson added.

As previously reported by Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country continues to provide safe and unimpeded transit for foreign nationals leaving Iran through humanitarian corridors. According to the latest figures, nearly 4,000 foreign citizens have transited through Turkmenistan’s territory.
