Kazakhstan's economy growth and strengthening transit potential - Tokayev

The President of Kazakhstan held a meeting with members of the public in the Zhambyl Region, during which he outlined the key results of the country’s socio-economic development and the implementation of major infrastructure projects, Kazinform reports.

The Kazakh leader noted that over the past five years the national economy has grown by 15.8%, while growth in the current year exceeded 6%, the highest level since 2012. According to him, GDP per capita increased by 47%, and the country’s gold and foreign exchange reserves, along with the assets of the National Fund, reached a record high, surpassing $125 billion.

President Tokayev emphasized the importance of large-scale infrastructure projects. In particular, the second track of the Dostyk–Moyynty railway was commissioned ahead of schedule, becoming the largest railway project of the years of independence. Within just a few months, an additional 6 million tons of cargo were transported along this route, and construction of the Moyynty–Kyzylzhar section is ongoing.

President Tokayev also reported that in 2025, construction and repair works covered 13,000 km of highways, 36 new air routes were launched, and 90% of citizens gained access to the internet. In the construction sector, more than 19 million square meters of housing were commissioned, improving living conditions for thousands of families.
