At an expanded meeting on national economic development and budget planning for 2027–2029, the Government and the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan heard reports on the current state of the economy, the socioeconomic development forecast for 2027–2029, and the main parameters of the national budget for this period, Zakon.kz reports.
The meeting, attended by President Kassym-Joart Tokayev, included Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Head of the Presidential Administration Roman Sklyar, Chairman of the National Bank Timur Suleimenov, Chairman of the Supreme Audit Chamber Alikhan Smailov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin, Assistant to the President for Economic Affairs Nurlan Baibazarov, and Minister of Finance Madi Takiyev.
President Tokayev heard reports on the current state of the economy, the socioeconomic development forecast for 2027–2029, and the main parameters of the national budget for this period.
During the discussion, he emphasized the need to ensure the achievement of planned economic growth indicators by the end of 2026 while simultaneously maintaining a balanced national and local budget.
The President identified the accelerated construction of infrastructure and social facilities as one of the key priorities of budget policy for 2027–2029. These include hospitals, children's rehabilitation centers, and cultural and sports facilities.
The guidelines adopted at the meeting are important for Kazakhstan, as they define not only the parameters of future government spending but also the main directions of economic policy for the next three years. The emphasis on infrastructure and social projects demonstrates the state's commitment to using budgetary resources to simultaneously address social issues and create conditions for long-term economic growth.
The call to ensure budget balance is particularly important. Given the large-scale government expenditures, this requires more stringent prioritization and increased efficiency in the use of budget funds.
