Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which he reaffirmed Astana’s readiness to continue facilitating dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported.
“Kazakhstan is prepared to provide its platform for negotiations,” the head of Kazakhstan, congratulating his Armenian counterpart on the signing of a peace declaration in Washington.
Tokayev announced that preparations are already underway in Astana for Pashinyan’s official visit, scheduled for late 2025. In turn, the Armenian prime minister praised Kazakhstan’s mediating role in normalizing relations with Azerbaijan and confirmed his intention to visit the country to sign new bilateral agreements.
The conversation between the two leaders took place against the backdrop of the ongoing process of settling Armenian-Azerbaijani relations following the signing of a key declaration brokered by the United States. Kazakhstan, which maintains close ties with both South Caucasus nations, has traditionally served as a platform for dialogue.
