ASTANA - The average price of commercial gas in Kazakhstan will increase by 33% starting July 1, 2026. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Energy Kaiyrkhan Tutkyshbayev at a briefing at the Central Communications Service, Zakon.kz reports.
He stated that the increase is due to the need to prepare for the heating season and modernize the gas infrastructure. However, no further sharp price increases are expected in the near future.
Tutkyshbayev also noted that gas production in the country declined in the first four months of the year due to technical failures at the Tengiz field and several other facilities. However, this did not affect gas supplies to the population.
The Deputy Minister explained that the national operator QazaqGaz was able to cover domestic market needs through transit gas. As a result, supply disruptions to consumers were avoided.
The Ministry of Energy emphasized that the current tariff adjustment is necessary to maintain the reliable operation of the gas system and ensure timely infrastructure upgrades.
