Kazakhstan has boosted its oil and gas production in the first seven months of 2025, Asqat Khasenov, Chairman of the Management Board of NC KazMunayGas, reported during a meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, reports Kazinform.

Khasenov stated that oil and gas condensate production reached 15.3 million tons during the reporting period, 9% higher than the same period in 2024. Natural and associated gas production grew by 19%, reaching 6.7 billion cubic meters.

Key company initiatives were discussed during the meeting. These include expanding gas processing at the Zapadnaya Prorva, Uriktau, and Rozhkovskoye fields, as well as diversifying oil export routes: 900,000 tons were delivered to Azerbaijan, 1.1 million tons to Germany, and 85,000 tons to Hungary.

A major focus has been placed on enhancing domestic refining. In 2025, Kazakhstani refineries are expected to process 10.4 million tons of crude oil, enabling a record production of light petroleum products—7.8 million tons.

The company also plans to build a 247 MW hybrid power plant and launch a polyethylene production plant with an annual capacity of 1.25 million tons. The polyethylene project is estimated to cost $7.4 billion.

The President instructed the company to continue expanding geological exploration, implementing major investment projects, and strengthening social programs in regional areas.

Earlier, it was reported that KazMunayGas completed the construction of a seawater desalination plant in the Mangystau Region, which will improve water supply to the city of Zhanaozen.
