President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, held official talks, followed by a ceremony to exchange signed documents, reports the Kazakh socio-political newspaper Vremya.
According to the newspaper, a total of 10 agreements and memorandums were signed. Among them was a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE in the field of road transportation.
The Ministries of Justice of both countries also signed a memorandum of cooperation. An agreement was concluded between Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund and Masdar on joint development of 24-hour power supply projects with a capacity of up to 500 MW and energy storage systems of up to 2,000 MW in Kazakhstan.
A strategic cooperation agreement was signed on the digital transformation of Kazakhstan's oil and gas sector, along with another strategic agreement on cooperation in the digitalization of the industry. A memorandum of understanding and cooperation in the financial sector was also signed. Additionally, the parties reached an agreement to establish a supercomputer cluster in Kazakhstan.
A memorandum of understanding was approved between the Turkestan Region Akimat and the Abu Dhabi Development Fund for the financing and construction of the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Maternity Hospital in Turkestan. The two sides also signed an agreement on investment in the development of the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana.
Furthermore, the ceremony included the announcement of the ratification of an agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and the UAE on the implementation of a wind power plant project.
