Kabul to host UAE investors and traders’ conference

The United Arab Emirates’ Special Envoy to Afghanistan, Saif Mohammad Al Ketbi, announced that an investment and trade conference will be held in Kabul, during a meeting with Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Ariananews.af reports.

According to a statement released Tuesday by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, Al Ketbi said the conference will focus on projects that could contribute to Afghanistan’s economic growth.

The statement also noted that Al Ketbi expressed his country’s interest in investing in the development of Afghanistan’s railway and road infrastructure.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the expansion of bilateral relations, particularly in the field of economic cooperation between Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates.

Baradar emphasized that Afghanistan is rich in natural resources and that the Islamic Emirate is striving for self-sufficiency by attracting investment in the mining sector.

He added that investors from the UAE are welcome to invest across various sectors of the Afghan economy.
