In Kazakhstan, gasification of the country reached 62%

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a working meeting with Sanjar Zharkeshov, Chairman of the national gas company QazaqGaz, Zakon.kz reports, citing the Akorda (Presidential office) press service.

Zharkeshov briefed the president on the company’s recent achievements. As of mid-2025, Kazakhstan’s gasification rate has reached 62.4%, with over 1.7 million people gaining access to natural gas in the past three years.

Among the major infrastructure milestones is the completion of the Taldykorgan–Usharal gas pipeline, which will supply gas to 66 settlements in the Zhetysu region. Construction is also underway on the second line of the Beineu–Bozoy–Shymkent trunk pipeline and a liquefied gas fractionation plant at the Kashagan oil field. In addition, a $1.35 billion urea plant is being developed in partnership with Turkish investor ESTA.

Kazakhstan is also boosting regional energy ties through increased transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan and the overhaul of the Central Asia–Center pipeline. QazaqGaz is implementing advanced technologies, including supercomputers equipped with NVIDIA chips.

President Tokayev instructed the company to intensify preparations for the upcoming heating season and continue strengthening the nation’s gas sector.
