Head of Kyrgyz Government Held Talks with US Secretary of State

On April 16, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev held talks in Washington with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on visa facilitation and expanding trade and economic ties, Econimist.kg reports.

The meeting covered a wide range of topics, including cooperation in investment, civil aviation, and sanctions.

Kasymaliev briefed the American side on Kyrgyzstan's sustainable economic development. He noted that the country's economy grew by more than 9% annually from 2022 to 2024, reaching a record 11.5% by the end of 2025. He emphasized the importance of the C5+1 format as a key tool for maintaining dialogue between the US and Central Asia.

Kyrgyzstan is interested in attracting American innovation and advanced developments.

"We view the United States not only as a critical partner but also as a global leader in scientific and technological development." "Kyrgyzstan is interested in expanding partnerships in innovation, digital transformation, and the implementation of advanced technologies," said Adylbek Kasymaliev.

The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan invited Marco Rubio to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan to further strengthen interstate ties. The US Secretary of State expressed gratitude for the visit and confirmed Washington's readiness to continue constructive dialogue.
