Turkmenistan’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 6.3% in 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced during an expanded cabinet meeting, according to the state news agency TDH.
"As a result of our people's diligent work during the International Year of Peace and Trust, great successes have been achieved, and set plans have been fulfilled. High economic development rates have been maintained," President Berdimuhamedov stated.
The President provided a breakdown of the growth across key economic sectors:
- Trade: 9.6%
- Agriculture: 7%
- Industrial Sector: 1.8%
The President also noted a 6% increase in total investments. During the reporting period, approximately 7,000 new jobs were created at large and medium-sized enterprises.
In 2025, utilizing all sources of financing, 116 production and socio-cultural facilities were commissioned, along with 645,000 square meters of housing.
Construction began on several major projects, and work continued on the second stage of Arkadag, the country’s first "smart" city. Furthermore, the President highlighted that Turkmen farmers (dayhans) harvested a robust crop, ensuring the nation’s food security.
