Full-scale construction has officially begun along the entire 304-kilometer stretch of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway that runs through Kyrgyz territory, according to Akchabar.kg.

The announcement was made during a meeting chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev, which brought together heads of relevant state and municipal bodies, as well as representatives of state-owned enterprises, to discuss the implementation of the international railway project.

"Let me remind you that on April 29 this year, a ceremonial event marked the beginning of construction on key segments of this railway. The project carries not only infrastructure significance—it is aimed at improving quality of life, boosting economic growth, and strengthening ties between regions and nations. Therefore, I instruct the responsible agencies to promptly resolve any issues that arise on the ground and to keep the President’s Administration regularly updated on progress," Torobaev stated during the meeting.

More than ten current issues related to the project's implementation were reviewed at the session, and specific instructions were given to the relevant state bodies for their swift resolution.

The China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway is one of the most ambitious and technically complex infrastructure projects in the region. The total cost is estimated at $4.7 billion. Approximately 40% of the railway will pass through tunnels and bridges, with plans to construct 27 tunnels and 41 bridges. Completion is expected by 2030.
