Turkmenistan is currently hosting European Immunization Week, organized by the country’s Ministry of Health and Medical Industry in collaboration with the World Health Organization’s Country Office and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Turkmenportal.tm reports.
Held under the slogan “Protecting Everyone Through Immunization – It’s Within Our Reach”, this year’s campaign emphasizes the urgent need to achieve equitable vaccine coverage across all communities. The initiative focuses on raising awareness about the importance of vaccines and ensuring that no one is left behind in efforts to protect public health through immunization.
As part of the week’s activities, Turkmenistan is holding a progress review meeting on its National Immunization Program for 2024–2028. In addition, a roundtable discussion is being convened with participation from UN health agencies, medical professionals, and students, according to Turkmenistan: The Golden Age.
European Immunization Week (EIW) is held annually across the WHO European Region to promote the vital role of immunization in preventing disease and saving lives.
