ASHGABAT - A batch of three-unit freight diesel locomotives manufactured by the Chinese company CRRC Ziyang Co., Ltd. has arrived in Turkmenistan, Hronikatm.com reports.

The new equipment was unveiled at the Ashgabat railway station, where it was greeted by industry specialists and elders in accordance with national traditions. It is noted that this is the first time diesel locomotives of this type have been delivered to the country.

The deliveries were made under agreements between the open joint-stock company "Demirellary" and CRRC Ziyang. Furthermore, as part of this cooperation, the Chinese company also overhauled the two-unit freight locomotives operated by the Turkmen side.

According to the source, the new three-unit diesel locomotives are capable of hauling up to 6,300 tons of freight, significantly exceeding the capacity of the modernized two-unit locomotives (approximately 4,200 tons). Each locomotive section is equipped with six wheelsets, reaches speeds of up to 100 km/h, and is equipped with a modern control system that improves operational efficiency on freight lines.
