Azerbaijan’s Non-Oil Exports to Kazakhstan Doubled in Early 2025

Between January and April 2025, Azerbaijan exported non-oil products worth $34.6 million to Kazakhstan, according to Trend news agency, citing the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.

This figure is $18.1 million (or 2.1 times) higher than during the same period in 2024.

Non-oil exports to Kazakhstan accounted for 3.24% of Azerbaijan’s total exports in the reporting period, placing Kazakhstan in sixth place among the top destinations for Azerbaijan’s non-oil products.

In total, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan reached $265.7 million in January–April 2025, which is $178.4 million (or three times) higher than in the same period last year. This trade volume accounted for 1.57% of Azerbaijan’s overall trade turnover.

Azerbaijan’s exports to Kazakhstan during this period amounted to $34.8 million - $17.9 million (or 2.1 times) more than in January–April 2024.

Imports from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan between January and April 2025 totaled $230.9 million, an increase of $160.6 million (or 3.3 times) compared to the same period last year.

Overall, Azerbaijan’s trade operations with foreign countries in January–April 2025 amounted to $16.917 billion - an increase of $3.3 billion (or 24.1%) compared to the same period in 2024.

Of this, $8.785 billion came from exports, and $8.133 billion from imports. This represents an increase of $616.1 million (or 7.5%) in exports and $2.7 billion (or 48.8%) in imports compared to the first four months of 2024.

As a result, Azerbaijan recorded a positive trade balance of $651.792 million - a decrease of $2.1 billion (or 4.15 times) compared to January–April 2024.
