The two sides reviewed detailed studies, design, and reconstruction plans for key transport routes, including Mazar-i-Sharif–Herat and Herat–Kandahar.

According to Afghanistan National Television, the discussions covered the expansion of trade through Torghundi Port, development of railway projects, infrastructure initiatives, and road construction in Afghanistan.

As a result of the talks, both parties agreed to begin practical implementation at the port, including the construction of new facilities and the erection of hangars for loading and unloading operations.

“Afghanistan and Turkmenistan share a long history of economic and trade relations,” said Minister Sani, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the neighboring countries.

He also noted that survey and design works are underway for several railway projects in Afghanistan and highlighted that both domestic and foreign investors have ample opportunities to invest in the sector.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides underlined the significance of bilateral infrastructure cooperation and sustained economic ties. They identified the Torghundi–Herat railway route as a vital corridor for Afghanistan’s economy, trade, and transit development.
