Uzbek chess player Sarvinoz Begmurotova, at the age of 12, has been awarded the title of Woman FIDE Master. This was announced by Alisher Sadullaev, First Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan Chess Federation, on his social media page, reports Daryo.uz.

With this achievement, Sarvinoz Begmurotova has made history in Uzbekistan as the youngest chess player to receive this title. She is a sixth-grader at a comprehensive school.

According to the FIDE rating list, Begmurotova is ranked 20th among Uzbek women chess players, with 1,967 rating points.

Meanwhile, another Uzbek woman, 16-year-old Afruza Khamdamova, currently ranked number one in Uzbekistan, is 41st in the world with 2,403 points, while Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova is 79th with 2,363 points.

Furthermore, the Uzbekistan women's team improved its FIDE ranking, moving up to 15th place with 2,258 points. A month earlier, the team had 2,228 points and was ranked 19th.
